Dustin, as you are the only other person I know who actually listened to SOAD, I was just wondering if you'd listened to Serj Tankian's solo album. It is...bizarre to say the least, and smashes the idea that it was the guitarist that was the source of insanity for the band.

I have not heard the entire album, only select songs that have been played on the radio and on tv.
I knew all along that a lot of the weirdness was Serj. I think perhaps the more political message came from the guitarist, but the randomness was all Serj.

Yea, but the two first big songs off the album are both political, so the split really didn't help in that department. Although at least he didn't go the "over the top to the point of annoying B.Y.O.B" route.

I felt that this album still had the political undertones, but a lot more of Serj's zaniness. I never had any doubt that Serj was the sole person responsible for the randomness.

Heh, so I've made my next musical goal to acoustify Elect the Dead.
So far I have Elect the Dead (not that that one's particularly hard) and almost have Beethoven's Cunt down.
Unfortunately I do not have nearly the dynamic voice that Serj does, so it's nowhere near as awesome. :(
