Congratulations George W. Bush
November 5, 2008

Congratulations George W. Bush. Your eight years of warmongering, reckless spending, and destruction of the Constitution have caused a few major events that I never thought I would see in my lifetime. In one hand, you were so bad that you allowed the voters to look beyond prejudice and elect the first African American president in the country's history; but on the other hand, you have caused the largest shift towards outright socialism that we have seen since FDR's New Deal. The American populous is begging for government intervention, collectivism, and a redistribution of wealth from the successful to the less successful. They have incorrectly tied our economy's problems to conservative, small-government policies--as this is what your party claimed to have been supporting. In reality, this could not be further from the truth.

You oversaw a government where individual rights did not matter in the face of your fantasy wars. Your administration fought on a daily basis through the courts to override public opinion and disobey the Constitution. Your Congress passed massive increases in spending for Iraq, ethanol, No Child Left Behind, pork projects, foreign aid to countries that hate us, and general government waste. Instead of standing up to this action, you vetoed nothing. You accepted the deficits and the largest increase in national debt in our country's history and you begged for more.

When your policies caused high inflation, you pumped more money in. When your inflation bubble popped, you pumped more money in. You led the charge for a direct stimulus to all taxpayers--money borrowed from China to feed your desire to have Americans consume until they have nothing left. The credit bubble created by your lax monetary policy and reckless spending finally crumbled, and exactly that happened. The taxpayers have been sucked dry and you have nowhere else to turn.

So what is the answer for Americans? Rather than seeing that you and the Republicans were a fraud the entire time, they have blamed our country's downward slide on the beliefs which you claimed to uphold. Because of this, we are heading towards the New Deal Part 2. Americans will ignore the failures of socialism in the past and will beg for more. They have forgotten about the mess caused by Social Security, Medicare, Fannie Mae, and many other failed beaurocracies--all created during the first New Deal.

The modern America will be one where success is punished by high taxes and spreading of wealth, individual liberties will be placed behind the collective welfare, and the government will play a roll in nearly every facet of our lives.

To that I say... thank you George W. Bush.
